Papers regarding Angola and Mozambique, 1929-1974.

The collection contains a variety of government reports on Angola and Mozambique, including a review of administrative services for businesses in Mozambique; a geographical study of Angola; a report of an Angolan highway engineering commission; an ecclesiastical chronology of missionary work in the Congo and Angola, 1491-1897; and annual report to the provincial governor of Zambézia, Mozambique; municipal legislation for Niassa, Mozambique; and a training manual for FRELIMO. Also included is correspondence by Manuel Saraiva Vieira, agricultural engineer, regarding the production, transport, pricing, and export of grain in Angola. The collection also contains a report, 1952, to the Governor General of Angola regarding contract terms and pay for native laborers of the Companhia de Diamantes de Angola as well as data on diamond production; a memo, 1936, to the Portuguese foreign minister on the same subject; and photographs of scenes around the diamond mines.
